STOMPNORTH Clipshear Getter Drive

£199.00

Stompnorth's flagship pedal combines MOSFET, valve, and silicon and germanium diodes to achieve a multitude of low to mid-gain tones.

View demo video

Duncan MacKinnon designed this pedal to be an integral part of your rig, an 'always on' pedal that enhances your core tone. Based around a 12AU7/ECC82 valve, it can thicken up your tone and layer on harmonically rich gain in a progressive way, enhancing rather than masking your core tone.

The Stompnorth Clipshear Getter Drive provides up to 21dB of boost that can really drive the input of your valve amp, but the analogue character and true valve gain also makes it a brilliant solution for recording.

Controls

The Gain control adjusts the amount of pre-amplification applied to the input of the valve circuit, and can be used in conjunction with the Volume control to “goose” the front end of your amp, or Clipshear’s valve circuit.

The Valve control adds gain to the valve signal path, which produces an amazingly responsive and transparent overdrive ranging from subtle boost to sweet overdrive. Used in tandem with the Gain control, you can achieve tons of sustain and a thick overdrive sound.

The Si / Ge / Off toggle switch adds silicon or germanium diode clipping to the signal path. Engaging it with high gain settings turns an overdrive tone into distortion, or at lower settings to a responsive crunch. Si is transparent and precise, Ge is “squidgy” and vintage. Note that engaging either diode results in a considerable volume drop. This is normal.

Use the active Volume control to either trim the output of the Clipshear Getter Drive to parity with the bypassed signal, increase the volume of the signal when the diodes are engaged, or to drive your amp’s input. There's also enough headroom to experiment with rolling back guitar volume to further expand the range of available textures.

The blue power indicator glows when the Clipshear Getter Drive is connected to an appropriate live power supply. When the pedal is activated, an orange indicator light glows from within the pedal.

Handmade in the UK from the highest quality components - just take a look at that beautiful Jupiter capacitor! - the Stompnorth Clipshear Getter Drive is perfect if you're after superb translation of your core tone for low to mid-gain purposes.

Features:

  • Gain, Volume, Valve, Si/Ge/Off controls
  • 12au7/ECC82 Valve drive with silicon and germanium diode clipping
  • 21dB of boost
  • Highest quality components
  • Handmade in the UK

TATE FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition

£170.00

Boost Guitar Pedals has commissioned Tate FX to build a limited run of Tate FX Raise The Dead fuzz pedals with a unique switchable second stage.

With the toggle switch in the 'Up' state, the pedal runs as the original Raise The Dead - a silicon transistor fuzz that can get pretty aggressive. But on this BGP Limited Edition, switch the toggle to the 'Down' position and hand-selected germanium transistors come into play, making the sound softer, warmer and harmonically rich, providing a spongier feel for the player and a useful alternative tone to the silicon of the base model.

The Tate FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition is exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals, with just a handful of units built in the initial run: you won't find these anywhere else!

Founder Stuart is a stickler for attention to detail, and he has gone all out with the components for this pedal. A small input transformer simulates the inductance and resistance from a guitar pickup to allow this pedal to work perfectly anywhere in a signal chain - particularly after buffered pedals.

Specially selected transistors, 1% metal film resistors and the some of the best capacitors on the market all combine to make this an incredible sounding hybrid silicon and germanium fuzz. It has tons of gain on tap and good bass response, so use that dial with care!

Features:

  • Single-dial silicon/germanium switchable hybrid fuzz pedal
  • Switchable NOS germanium stage
  • Super-high quality components
  • Exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals
  • Handmade in the UK

STOMPNORTH Bass Midgie Overdrive

£185.00

The bass-tuned Stompnorth Bass Midgie Overdrive is in similar tonal territory to the Electro-Harmonix Bass Muff - but that's where the similarities end...

Its handwired point-to-point circuit is built around a single Darlington transistor and symmetrical silicon diodes.

This is a great pedal to enhance your bass tone and get it growling. Use the toggle to switch between silicon diode clipping and "Fauzz" (faux fuzz derived from transistor feedback) to get your preferred flavour of drive tone.

The power indicator features several Inner Hebrides midges, personally collected by Stompnorth founder, Duncan! They won't bite, but this pedal will.

Features:

  • Handwired point-to-point bass overdrive
  • Made in Scotland
  • Select from silicon or 'fauzz' tones
  • Volume, Gain, OD & Si/Fauzz controls
  • Power: 9V centre-negative (not included)

RED NOISE Stone Blender

£210.00

Founder Ariel describes the Red Noise Stone Blender as "a complete fuzz engine" for your pedalboard.

Although it's based on the 1990s Sola Sound Tone Bender circuit, its 4-way Diode Switch control lets you pick from four different clipping options for more versatility:

1N60 (Green) - Purry, germanium overdrive-like fuzz, offering volume boost and added crunch

1N4148 (Red) - Sizzling up top while punching you in the gut, this is the 1990’s Sola Sound Tone Bender sound - a classic fuzz tone

Yellow LED (Yellow) - A loud and aggressive character

Blue LED (Blue) - Extremely distorted and high gain in character, this is full-blown and in your face. And yes, it goes to 11...

The Red Noise Stone Blender is built around NOS Toshiba 2SC2240 transistors, with sturdy Alpha pots and that addictive NOS germanium diode.

The De-Clip control alters the tonal balance and presence of the mids, enabling you to increase pick attack and bring your instrument forward in the mix, whether you are using a guitar or bass (Ariel is a bassist and this pedal is more than capable of some 4-string thunder!) This helps to alleviate mid-scoop issues which can affect other fuzzes, especially those based on the Big Muff, and enables you to really push the mids.

Features:

  • Artisan fuzz pedal based on Sola Sound Tone Bender
  • 4-way diode selection (1N60, 1N4148, Yellow LED, Blue LED)
  • Volume, Tone, Fuzz, Diode and De-Clip controls
  • New Old Stock Japanese Transistors (Toshiba 2SC2240)
  • New Old Stock Germanium Diode (1N60)
  • Alpha Pots
  • True Bypass
  • 100% handwired in Atlanta, GA, USA
  • Power: 9V power supply, centre-negative (not included)

STOMPNORTH Fishmoth Vintage Fuzztoner

£180.00

Stompnorth's Fishmoth Vintage Fuzztoner is based on the classic Fuzz Face circuit made famous by Jimi Hendrix.

Built around low noise, expensive foil capacitors, this very useable fuzz can be adjusted using the A/B toggle, which switches between bright and normal frequency response. In addition, the Bias control enables you to dial in gated, splattery, dying battery sounds.

If you love the Fuzz Face sound, this will get you all those silicon tones and more.

Features:

  • High quality, low noise circuit based on Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face
  • Fuzz, Bias, Volume & A/B Controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)
