ZANDER CIRCUITRY American Geek

£149.00

The Zander Circuitry American Geek takes all that's great about the classic silicon Big Muff circuit and ramps it up a notch. Combining one of the most popular vintage guitar sounds with modern circuit design, the American Geek needs to be experienced.

Key to getting a great tone with a Muff-style fuzz is the EQ, and the American Geek features a super-tweakable EQ section. Two Shift controls alter the capacitor values in the tone stack, adjusting the filter sweep and cut-off. These controls interact with the Tone control to enable you dial in all versions of the silicon Big Muff - and more.

What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry American Geek features a more compact footprint, beautiful knurled steel controls, and an upgrade from six to eight options on the signature clipping selector:

  • Germanium: A smooth, sweet sounding form of clipping, very ‘amp-like’ in its response.
  • Silicon: Louder, brighter and more aggressive sounding.
  • LED: Even louder, less saturated but very punchy.
  • Asymmetrical germanium: A more aggressive germanium sound.
  • Asymmetrical silicon: Beefing up the aggression of the silicon sound.
  • Asymmetrical LED: A more aggressive version of the LED sound.
  • MOSFET: Similar to the silicon setting but a bit sweeter, crunchier and a touch more saturated.
  • No  diodes: Loads of output but not much gain.

The pedal features two footswitches, the second of which gives you access to the Blast function - a second channel with an independent volume control and the gain set to maximum. The switches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on the relevant switch then releasing it when you're done.

Features:

  • Updated version of American Geek fuzz for 2021
  • Top-mounted jacks
  • Gain, Tone, Shift 1, Shift 2, Blast, Level & Diode Selector controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included).
  • Current draw: 126mA

ZANDER CIRCUITRY Siva

£149.00

The Zander Circuitry Siva takes the late '70s IC/op-amp Big Muff - as used so effectively by The Smashing Pumpkins - and drags it kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

The op-amp Muff circuit is perfect for grunge, but can do so much more: it's crunchy, sludgy and is packed full of crushing gain.

Key to getting a great tone is the EQ, and the Siva features a super-tweakable EQ section. Two Shift controls alter the capacitor values in the tone stack, adjusting the filter sweep and cut-off. These controls interact with the Tone control to enable you to dial in the perfect sound.

ZANDER CIRCUITRY Foxxton Woods front transparent | Boost Guitar Pedals

ZANDER CIRCUITRY Foxxton Woods

£149.00

The Zander Circuitry Foxxton Woods is an octave fuzz based on the 1970s Foxx Tone Machine. But in true Zander Circuitry fashion, the Foxxton Woods takes the concept to another level, with extra controls giving far more versatility than the original.

Since the 1960s, fuzz has gone hand-in-hand with octave effects, and it's been popular ever since. The Foxxton Woods spans eras with its tones, from classic '60s to filthy '90s and more.

The Body Control adjusts the low-end frequencies, allowing you to dial in muscular, deep tones or a tighter, more focused sound for cutting through a mix - or somewhere in between.

The Shift control adjusts the mid-range frequencies, enabling you go from mid-scooped to mid-boosted tones.

What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry Foxxton Woods fuzz features a more compact footprint, beautiful knurled steel controls, and an upgrade from six to eight options on the signature clipping selector:

  • Germanium: A smooth, sweet sounding form of clipping, very ‘amp-like’ in its response.
  • Silicon: Louder, brighter and more aggressive sounding.
  • LED: Even louder, less saturated but very punchy.
  • Asymmetrical germanium: A more aggressive germanium sound.

  • Asymmetrical LED: A more aggressive version of the LED sound.
  • MOSFET: Similar to the silicon setting but a bit sweeter, crunchier and a touch more saturated.
  • No  diodes: Loads of output but not much gain.

The pedal features two foot-switches, enabling you to access the octave-fuzz or fuzz separately - each is also linked to an independent volume control. The switches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage one of the effects by holding your foot down on the relevant switch then releasing it when you're done.

Features:

  • Updated version of Foxxton Woods for 2021
  • Top-mounted jacks
  • Gain, Tone, Body, Shift, O Level, F Level & Diode Selector Controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included).
  • Current draw: 128mA

GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Logos Chorus-Vibrato

£158.00

The Greenhouse Effects Logos Chorus-Vibrato is a cleverly designed and beautifully executed modulation powerhouse: select from 3 chorus modes or turn the Mix knob to 100% to access a classic vibrato effect. What's more, an expression pedal input makes it even more controllable and versatile on the stage.

Pitch shifting, multiple voices, LFO, feedback, envelope detection, waveforms, distortion and even reverb are blended together and rearranged to make 48 different combinations of awesome sounds.

The pedal's party trick is its "Logos" mode, which is a chorus with an LFO featuring various pitch interval settings and added reverb. As Roy at Greenhouse Effects says, "it feels like an organ player is playing along with you in a large hall!"

The 3 Chorus Modes:

  1. Order Mode: Classic chorus with up to 8 cascading voices, normal to extreme depth, DSS: Max Depth for noisy chaos. Hidden feature: Automated rate.
  2. Chaos Mode: 8 chaotic modes of pitch modulation, envelope LFO, waveforms and double voice. DSS: Max Depth
  3. Logos Mode: Beautiful, dreamy chorus with 8 combinations of modulated intervals, octave up/down, 5th intervals, and flanger-like modulation at lower settings. This setting includes a hall-style reverb for added angelic ambience. DSS: Max Depth for noisy chaos. Hidden feature: LFO off.

One genius implementation is the DSS (Dual Switching System) , which gives you access to secondary functions in each mode when you hold down the footswitch for more than 200ms. There are also "hidden" features for each mode, accessed by maxing out the Rate control.

The Logos is another example of the great work Greenhouse Effects has been doing combining analogue circuitry with digital controls. Sit down with this for a weekend and explore all the sounds it has to offer - there's a lot to discover!

Features:

  • Multi-mode chorus pedal with vibrato setting
  • Unique "Logos" mode
  • Mod, Depth, Rate/Sens/Pitch & Mix controls
  • True bypass
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

TATE FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition

£170.00

Boost Guitar Pedals has commissioned Tate FX to build a limited run of Tate FX Raise The Dead fuzz pedals with a unique switchable second stage.

With the toggle switch in the 'Up' state, the pedal runs as the original Raise The Dead - a silicon transistor fuzz that can get pretty aggressive. But on this BGP Limited Edition, switch the toggle to the 'Down' position and hand-selected germanium transistors come into play, making the sound softer, warmer and harmonically rich, providing a spongier feel for the player and a useful alternative tone to the silicon of the base model.

The Tate FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition is exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals, with just a handful of units built in the initial run: you won't find these anywhere else!

Founder Stuart is a stickler for attention to detail, and he has gone all out with the components for this pedal. A small input transformer simulates the inductance and resistance from a guitar pickup to allow this pedal to work perfectly anywhere in a signal chain - particularly after buffered pedals.

Specially selected transistors, 1% metal film resistors and the some of the best capacitors on the market all combine to make this an incredible sounding hybrid silicon and germanium fuzz. It has tons of gain on tap and good bass response, so use that dial with care!

Features:

  • Single-dial silicon/germanium switchable hybrid fuzz pedal
  • Switchable NOS germanium stage
  • Super-high quality components
  • Exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals
  • Handmade in the UK

ZANDER CIRCUITRY Sono Bass Fuzz & Preamp

£149.00

The Zander Circuitry Sono is one for all you bassists out there: a bass fuzz and preamp in a single small package.

The preamp side of the pedal takes you from clean to medium-gain, and importantly the Blend control allows you to add back in some of your original signal for clarity and spank.

Add fuzz to a good core bass tone and you have the recipe for some awesome sounds. Use the fuzz side of the Sono to dial in a tone that suits, and use the Blend control to add back in some of your original signal to ensure nothing gets lost in action. The Rip control enables you to dial in compression and some of that delicious gated/ velcro mayhem. Seriously, let it rip!

As the preamp and fuzz sides are completely independent, you can also stack them together for even more flexibility.

What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry Sono Bass Fuzz & Preamp features a more compact footprint, with bespoke knurled steel controls. The Blend controls have been updated to work better, the fuzz tone has been tweaked, and the preamp side now offers a wider gain range.

The footswitches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on either one of the switches. You can also now engage the second footswitch from bypass, without having to activate the pedal first.

Features:

  • Updated version of Sono Bass Fuzz & Preamp for 2021
  • Super-versatile fuzz and preamp pedal specifically tuned for bass guitar
  • Top-mounted jacks
  • P Lvl, P Gain, P Blend, F Lvl, F Gain, F Blend, F Tone & F Rip controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included).

FREDRIC EFFECTS Accomplished Badger Germanium Preamp

£125.00

The Fredric Effects Accomplished Badger is a dual-stage preamp/boost utilising an opamp stage which drives NOS vintage germanium transistors.

To maximise its potential as a clean boost, the Accomplished Badger features an internal charge-pump which runs at 18v from a 9v input. An audio-grade Triad output transformer provides a musical saturation and breakup character.

The result is a glorious sound that goes from ultra-clean to harmonically rich. Driving the germanium gain stage hard with the Clean Gain mini pot gets you into super-saturated, gritty, velcro fuzz territory, although turning this control down a bit gives way to beautifully expansive tones with that characteristic germanium responsiveness and "bounce".

This is a super-versatile low-gain pedal, giving you the option of dialling in as much or as little germanium colouration as you like, or allowing you to run it as a clean preamp.

Features:

  • Dual-stage preamp/boost
  • NOS vintage germanium transistors
  • Internal charge pump converts 9V to 18V for more headroom
  • Handmade in London, UK
  • Gain, Volume, Si Bias, Ge Bias & circuit toggle controls
  • Power: 9V centre-negative or 9V battery (neither included)

FREDRIC EFFECTS DuoFace

£125.00

It's renowned for its ability to clean up with the guitar's volume pot, making it a great effect if you like to control your sound with your fingers rather than your feet.

The DuoFace allows you to switch between the germanium and silicon circuits using the toggle switch, and each circuit features a Bias trimpot to adjust how the transistors react - from gated and splatty to smooth and sustainy - for a wide variety of useable sounds.

BAD PENNY FX Wireless Fuzz Front Transparent - Boost Guitar Pedals
BAD PENNY FX Wireless Fuzz Front Transparent - Boost Guitar Pedals
BAD PENNY FX Wireless Fuzz Front Context - Boost Guitar Pedals

BAD PENNY FX Wireless

£150.00

The Bad Penny FX Wireless is a germanium fuzz with flexible switching to ensure you always get the best tones.

Crank everything to achieve high gain, ripping fuzz tones, or disengage the Gate and Bass switches, pull down the Fuzz knob to minimum and your tone will be sweet and mellow. Being a vintage germanium circuit, it is highly responsive to your guitar volume.

Gate

The gate switch controls how much signal is passed to the third transistor. By default it passes the full signal for plenty of gain, but switching it on reduces the signal and therefore gain, for a cleaner fuzz tone.

There is an internal trim pot that allows you to adjust how much signal is passed when Gate is engaged,

Bass

The bass switch removes the lowest frequencies for a clearer, brighter sound.

Please note: The Bad Penny FX Wireless is built to order. Please allow around 7 days build time plus shipping time.

Features:

  • Germanium fuzz with select vintage components
  • English ash hardwood and aluminium enclosure
  • True bypass
  • Handmade in East-Sussex, UK
  • Fuzz, Tone, Master, Gate & Bass controls
  • Power: 9V power supply, centre-negative (not included)

BAD PENNY FX Smoothflow

£165.00

The Bad Penny FX Smoothflow is a twin-stage dynamic boost, taking you from super-clean through to full-on gain.

Both stages have similar controls, although there are three toggles which affect the sound in particular ways:

Clean

The clean switch reduces the input gain, enabling you to achieve the cleanest boost possible.

Full & Thick

The full and thick switches allow to you enable a bass cut to each gain stage independently, essentially turning the affected gain stage into a treble-boost.

If you're looking for a high quality do-it-all pedal, the Smoothflow is definitely worth considering. In addition to its handwired circuit - including high quality pots and switches, 22awg cloth wiring, and select vintage components - it is built into a handmade English ash hardwood and aluminium enclosure.

Please note: The Bad Penny FX Smoothflow is built to order. Please allow around 7 days build time plus shipping time.

BAD PENNY FX Fuzz Controller V2 Front Context - Boost Guitar Pedals

BAD PENNY FX Fuzz Controller V2

£145.00

The Bad Penny FX Fuzz Controller V2 is a high gain silicon fuzz with power filtering and independent boost circuits, each of which can be adjusted via internal trim-pots.

It's a brilliant fuzz, utilising vintage Philips, K40Y-9 Russian military-grade, and Sprague Vitamin Q paper-in-oil capacitors, all connected with vintage-style cloth wiring and housed in a beautiful English ash and aluminium chassis.

Starve

Use the Starve switch to limit the power running into the Fuzz Controller, emulating a dying 9V battery for seriously organic, squashy tones.

Diode

The Diode switch allows you to switch between LED clipping and 1N4148 silicon diode clipping. When turned off, there's less gain but more volume, enabling an overdrive-type response.

Bass Cut

The Bass Cut switch shelves some of the lower frequencies while simultaneously boosting the signal for an aggressive sound.

Treble Cut

The Treble Cut switch compresses the high end and lops off the highest frequencies.

The Bad Penny FX Fuzz Controller V2 is clean and loud if you want it to be, but set it right and it gets down and dirty too!

Please note: The Bad Penny FX Fuzz Controller V2 is built to order. Please allow around 7 days build time plus shipping time.

Features:

  • High-gain silicon fuzz with vintage components
  • English ash hardwood and aluminium enclosure
  • True bypass

BAD PENNY FX Widow

£155.00

The Bad Penny FX Widow is a dual footswitch design offering stackable overdrive and fuzz channels.

The overdrive circuit is based on Bad Penny FX's Trainscreamer overdrive pedal, taking you from mild boost to singing sustain. Bad Penny FX have designed this circuit to preserve and enhance the low-end frequencies in your signal, giving you warmth and thickness when you need it.

The fuzz circuit is designed to be stacked after the overdrive circuit in series. The drive it receives from the overdrive gives it plenty of attack. Use the Bite control to starve the circuit and create stuttery, breaking up sounds, and use the Evil control to cut bass from your tone (this control can be fine-tuned via an internal trim-pot).

The ability to stack a low-gain overdrive circuit into a fuzz circuit gives this pedal tons of versatility - use the overdrive on its own or add the fuzz to bring the gain!

Please note: The Bad Penny FX Widow is built to order. Please allow around 7 days build time plus shipping time.

Features:

  • Dual channel overdrive & fuzz
  • English ash hardwood and aluminium enclosure
  • True bypass
  • Handmade in East-Sussex, UK
  • Master, Drive, Tone, Bite, Evil controls

FREDRIC EFFECTS Regent 150 Preamp

£120.00

The Fredric Effects Regent 150 Preamp pedal is a faithful recreation of the preamp and EQ sections from a cold war-era East German amp, the Vermona Regent 150K. It features vintage-correct NOS transistors and sturdy construction to keep you playing all night long!

The Regent 150 Preamp can sweeten your core sound like a traditional preamp, or turn into a boost or distortion pedal by using the controls more aggressively. The Volume control adds gain as you turn it up, taking you into gritty distortion territory, while the Bass and Treble controls allow you to get classic mid-boost or mid-scooped sounds as well as more modern tones with plenty of top-end sparkle.

The internal charge pump IC converts 9V into the 15V DC that the original amp ran on. This gives the pedal tons of headroom with the ability to produce extraordinary clarity.

"There’s more, but we don’t have room to describe it all. Basically this is a magic-dust sprinkler" - Guitarist Magazine (Editor's Choice) December 2019

This deserves to be an always-on pedal on your pedalboard. It stacks really well and  offers loads of flexibility. The build quality is exceptional too, with a folded steel chassis. The icing on the cake is that as this is based on a rare East German amp rather than the ubiquitous Fender or Marshall circuit, you will definitely stand out from the masses!

Features:

  • Preamp pedal based on a rare East German cold war-era amplifier
  • Handmade in London, UK
  • Volume, Bass & Treble controls
  • Power: 9V centre-negative or 9V battery (neither included)

BASIC AUDIO Spooky Tooth

£210.00

The Basic Audio Spooky Tooth is one of John Lyon's best known pedals. A mash up of Orpheum, Fuzzrite and Super Fuzz circuit types, with some Big Muff raunch thrown in for good measure, he describes it as "Neil Young in a box".

It's an incredibly versatile fuzz with an aggressive character thanks to the silicon transistors. The Spooky Tooth provides the sag and bloom of an amp on the edge, with the lightly scooped mids accentuating the thick bottom end and zingy highs. It's really reactive to picking strength, compressing nicely under heavier picking or chords.

You can dial your sound in with the Texture control, which blends between one and two gain stages for lower to high-gain tones, and gives an octave-up tonality near the centre position.

A surprisingly versatile pedal that can carry out more than just fuzz duties.

Features:

  • A "greatest hits" fuzz pedal with tons of versatility
  • Volume, Fuzz, Texture & Saturate controls
  • Handwired in Fayetteville, West Virginia, USA

ZANDER CIRCUITRY Surplus Elemental Overdriver

£149.00

Zander Circuitry's Surplus Elemental Overdriver is a two-stage transistor boost/ overdrive pedal with the capability to achieve beautiful clean boost tones as well as complex distortion and even some fuzz.

The pedal features two foot-switchable channels with independent gain controls, perfect for on-the-fly switching. The switches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on either one of the switches.

Use the Response control to tweak the input and output capacitor value, rolling off the gain and low-end frequencies to achieve super-complex tones. It offers everything from a thinner, brighter character through to a grainy, spitty character. This pedal is incredibly reactive to your guitar's volume pot and playing dynamics, making it great for those of you who prize 'feel' above all else.

What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry Surplus Elemental Overdriver features a more compact footprint, beautiful knurled steel controls, and an upgrade from six to eight options on the signature clipping selector:

The pedal features two foot-switchable channels with independent gain controls, perfect for on-the-fly switching. The switches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on either one of the switches. ZANDER CIRCUITRY Cranium Murine Distortion

£149.00

Zander Circuitry's Cranium Murine Distortion is an all-in-one version of the famous RAT circuit, pulling together the best bits from various mods and generational iterations and introducing enhancements such as Zander Circuitry's signature diode selector.

Key to the Cranium's flexible approach to the RAT circuit is the interplay between Freq and Tone controls, enabling precise dialling in of your sound. The Body control takes this even further, affecting how much bass is produced for a deeper or more sculpted tone.

The Blast control allows you to set the gain level for the second footswitch for a volume/gain boost when kicked in.

What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry Cranium Murine Distortion features a more compact footprint, beautiful knurled steel controls, and an upgrade from six to eight options on the signature clipping selector:

The footswitches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on either one of the switches. You can also now engage the second footswitch from bypass, without having to activate the pedal first.

Features:

  • Updated version of Cranium Dual Gain Distortion for 2021
  • Top-mounted jacks
  • Level, Gain, Tone, Freq, Body, Level, Blast & Diode Selector Controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included).
  • Current draw: 120mA

ZANDER CIRCUITRY SiClone Silicon Chaos Initiator

£149.00

From it’s humble beginnings as a modified Fuzz Factory' circuit to its latest iteration, Zander Circuitry's first pedal model has come a long way.

These days the SiClone Silicon Chaos Initiator is a super-versatile 8-knob fuzz monstrosity, capable of taking you from vintage-style fuzz tones right through to complete sonic annihilation!

There is plenty of scope to push your imagination with this pedal - use the Shunt control to tame feedback and create stuttering gated effects. Squash compresses the attack, creating a synth-like character at higher settings. Starve restricts the voltage to the circuit, creating beautiful dying-battery sounds. Bright allows you to dial in just the right amount of high frequency, while Body enables you to emphasise or cut the low end. Punch controls the mid-range frequencies.

The Tone footswitch allows you to bypass the Bright and Punch settings to give a fat, mid-rich sound with a volume boost, although the output can be reduced by means of an internal trim pot if required.
