    ZANDER CIRCUITRY American Geek

Big Muff for the 21st Century

About the ZANDER CIRCUITRY American Geek

The Zander Circuitry American Geek takes all that's great about the classic silicon Big Muff circuit and ramps it up a notch. Combining one of the most popular vintage guitar sounds with modern circuit design, the American Geek needs to be experienced.

Key to getting a great tone with a Muff-style fuzz is the EQ, and the American Geek features a super-tweakable EQ section. Two Shift controls alter the capacitor values in the tone stack, adjusting the filter sweep and cut-off. These controls interact with the Tone control to enable you dial in all versions of the silicon Big Muff - and more.

    What's new?

This latest version of the Zander Circuitry American Geek features a more compact footprint, knurled steel knobs, and an upgrade from six to eight clipping options:

    • Germanium: A smooth, sweet sounding form of clipping, very ‘amp-like’ in its response.
    • Silicon: Louder, brighter and more aggressive sounding.
    • LED: Even louder, less saturated but very punchy.
    • Asymmetrical germanium: A more aggressive germanium sound.
    • Asymmetrical silicon: Beefing up the aggression of the silicon sound.
    • Asymmetrical LED: A more aggressive version of the LED sound.
    • MOSFET: Similar to the silicon setting but a bit sweeter, crunchier and a touch more saturated.
    • No  diodes: Loads of output but not much gain.

The American Geek features two footswitches, the second of which gives you access to the Blast function - a second channel with an independent volume control and the gain set to maximum. The switches support both momentary and latching switching, meaning that you can temporarily engage a channel by holding your foot down on the relevant switch then releasing it when you're done.
